The group exhibition ‘noise’ (with a.o. Carsten Nicolai, Roberto Pugliese,...) takes as a strating point the 100th anniversary of Luigi Russolo’s futuristic manifest ‘L’Arte dei Rumori’ and ‘noise’ as a medium for artistic creation. LAb[au] exhibits ‘PixFlow’, which is constituted of stripped computers integrated in a transparant sculpture. On its screens a moving and everchanging image is displayed. Calculation errors are the base of its generative proces and specific visual esthetic.

Bio

LAb[au] is an artisttrio constituted of Manuel Abendroth, Els Vermang and Jerome Decock. Their oeuvre displays themes as color, light, sound and motion and is characterized by space, concept and proces. LAb[au]’s experimental and innovative artpractice focuses on fundamental research on contemporality in art. The internationally and critically acclaimed studio was one of 2009’s nominees for the Young Belgian Painters Award.
